What the Media Missed in the Nashville Flood

Last weekend, Nashville was completely devastated by record rainfall and flooding. People lost everything they had in the flooding—their homes, memories, and in some cases, their lives. They were stranded for days while the interstates and city streets flooded. Downtown Nashville was flooded up to 2nd Avenue; the Opryland Hotel had around 10 feet of water inside of it; and most of Bellevue was underwater.

The pictures and videos of what happened last weekend are unbelievable to me. My parents are fine, but some of my good friends lost just about everything. Still, even with all this tragedy, people have been helping their friends, neighbors, and total strangers get through this. It makes me so proud to be a Nashville native.
